Salt Your Data.
Salting means giving incorrect, fake, misleading data instead and this easy technique can be applied to many services, emails and even facial images!
Totally legal, in fact, absolutely essential these days.
🛂 Official Vs Non-Official🛍
Do not do this with banks, HMRC, Passport applications of course but anything else is pretty much fair game.
The following areas are where you can apply a good dose of salt to make the data you are forced to give far less relevant.
👉 Email - Use a random email instead of your real name
👉 Social Media - A random string of letters and numbers or your favourite holiday destination as your username
👉 Anything from an online store - Of course, your address is needed for delivery but a name and telephone number especially, could be generic. A UK mobile number is 11 digits so 07888888888 becomes a very easy to enter number. How often does the shop actually call you?
👉 SIM cards - The likes of Lebara and Lyca will deliver their free online sim cards to any name as long as the address is entered so why not "Keir Starmer"?
👉 Any other online service - Try it everywhere. You'll be amazed at how little you need to give away with any sign-up blocked website
