Meta wants every photo from your phone for it's AI - Here's how to stop it
If you still use Facebook, a VERY important new feature is being rolled out to users which allows them to continuously upload photos from your phone to Meta's cloud.
When creating a story, a prompt pops up and asks users to opt into "cloud processing."
This vague term actually means ''we'll select media from your camera roll and upload it to our cloud on an ongoing basis, based on info like time, location, or themes''.
Reboot Privacy would like to ask you if it's OK if we come into your house, pick up your phone, open your gallery and save all the photos in it for our use later. All good? 🤦♂️
REMEMBER, Meta consists of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp….same company and likely the same photo upload feature rolling out soon.
How to revoke Facebook cloud processing permissions on iPhone
👉 Open the Facebook app
👉 At the top of the screen, tap +
👉 Tap Story
👉 In the top right corner, tap the Settings cog
👉 At the bottom of the screen, tap Camera roll settings
👉 Toggle off Get creative ideas made for you by allowing camera roll cloud processing
Managing Permissions on Android Devices
👉 Open the Facebook app
👉 Tap the + icon to create a story
👉 Access the story settings menu
👉 Within camera roll settings, switch off any option that permits ongoing uploads for AI suggestions
This will ensure that Meta no longer scans or uploads new images from your device.
